Paxton Lumber Co, the “Home of Beautiful Woods”, was established 1909 as an exotic wood lumber warehouse and built against the Albuquerque railway.  The original Paxton’s building is the new home for which the Sawmill Market will live.

Paying homage to its original name, existing materials and rich heritage as a workshop, Paxton’s was created as a tap room to act as the central community gathering hub in Albuquerque.

The bar features a tap for everyone where friends can catch up over a cold pint, families can relax and play a game of checkers and all walks of life are celebrated and welcome.

Paxton’s is a nod to a forgotten industrial past of New Mexico.

The room will evoke a sense of nostalgia that can be found in the salvaged denim work jackets worn by the bartenders or though the original messaging on the coasters and in the vintage furnishings.

Diners will be offered drink pairings of New Mexico’s finest selection of craft beer on custom wooden flight boards along with local made jerkies and Native American grown popcorn.

The space opens to the outdoors extending in to The Yard encouraging guests to lift their glass, their spirits and stay a while.
